Umbrella Theatre

Umbrella Theatre is a pop up puppet theatre featuring strange mini-shows inside the red velvet tent.

Synopsis

The Umbrella Theatre is a tiny mobile venue fitting audiences of 10 people at a time. There are a range of funny five minute puppet shows which appear inside. Some are full of wonder and suited to families, others are rather crass or disturbing. A character host greats the audience and ushers in a new group every 10 minutes. A great addition to festivals to add colour and excitement to the atmosphere. The Umbrella Theatre has appeared at many, many festivals events and private functions, including: Sydney Writers’ Festival, the Rocks Village Bizarre, the Australian Musuem, Harvest Festival, Bondi Festival of the Winds, Smart Arts Festival, Gallery Burlesque

For more info, visit the Umbrella Theatre Website.

Practical

The Umbrella Theatre is a steel structure requiring 3 people to assemble and operate the shows. Bump in time of 1.5 hours should be allowed, and vehicle access and parking are required. Power should also be available at the site. Visit the Umbrella Theatre website for full technical details.
