City Lights: Sydney Meets Japan

Duckie Art & Event Reviews, Blog

Last night I attended the launch of an exciting project called City Lights.

Using technology and creativity, Sydney and Yokohama, Japan will be connected innovatively.

An ensemble of young people underwent a creative development with multimedia artist David Kirkpatrick and Japanese dancer/designer Anna Kuroda. The results have led to an installation which appears in the Cleland Bond building, the Rocks, daily from 2-8pm until January 20th. Come by at 6pm for special performances.

The project is being commissioned by Shopfront Contemporary Arts Centre, which I was first involved with about 7 years ago. They’re a fantastic facility and company based in Carlton, with a range of interesting things going on.
