Umbrella Theatre Does Timania – Tim Burton Burlesque

Duckie Blog, Burl-esque, Puppetry

Umbrella Theatre had a wicked time on Sunday 22 April at the Standard, Taylor’s Square at Timania! This burlesque tribute to Tim Burton was a fabulous night out put on by the good folks at Gallery Burlesque. The burlesque-circus-cabaret-fan fiction-theatre-movie nerd-party was quite an extravaganza featuring some of the best burlesque acts I’ve seen in a long time, live visuals, balloon art, djs and of course the Umbrella Theatre crew.

I was performing the dark fairy tale puppet poem ‘Encounter with a Monster’ for those punters who dared to enter the theatre. Sam Aesha were looking even more fabulous than usual, thanks to the costumes by David Olde. As a tea toting cupcake and ballet scissorhands respectively, the girls were fantastic hosts, luring in unsuspecting merry makers.

Can’t wait for Gallery Burlesque’s next event, Harry Potter and the Curse of the Tassel Twirl, on July 22!
