Sydney Opera House Open Day

Duckie Blog, Puppetry

Though feeling a little under the weather, I had a fun time performing at Sydney Opera House Open Day yesterday. It was a beautiful, sunny Spring day with a great turn out of over 40,000 people, many of whom had never been to Sydney Opera House before.

I was privileged enough to get to alternate between performing as the dragon and zoo keeper for the day. The dragon is a gorgeous body puppet made by the incredible performing arts company Erth, who provided the entertainment for the day. The dragon is one of my favourites because the enormous amount of manouverability & control means you can really play with people. She’s also a big crowd pleaser and we made it into the Herald today.

As a result of growling all day my voice is now gone, I’m sure to the delight of many!
